Michael English

Ireland’s beloved country artist Michael English has spent over 25 years captivating audiences across Ireland, the UK, and America with heartfelt country music and unforgettable live performances. Widely regarded as one of Ireland’s top live entertainers, Michael continues to tour extensively, playing to packed theatres, concert halls, and major venues, supported by a loyal and ever-growing fanbase drawn to both his music and his warm, genuine connection with audiences.

Born on April 23rd, 1979, in Castledermot, County Kildare, Michael came from a deeply musical family — with traditional Irish music and dance at the heart of his upbringing. His father played button accordion, his mother was an Irish dancer, and his sisters were both musicians. He began piano lessons at just nine years old at the Hennessy School of Music in Carlow, and his extraordinary talent soon became clear. By the age of 11, he had already appeared on The Late Late Show with Gay Byrne.

He later trained at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and went on to work with renowned music manager Louis Walsh, recording albums in London and developing his career into one of Ireland’s most respected live acts.

Today, Michael English is known not only for his concert tours and dance hall performances, but also for his outstanding church concert series, a special project rooted in his strong faith and musical upbringing. His acclaimed show, “Faith, Hope and Inspiration,” has been met with huge success across Ireland and is designed specifically for church settings — performed with respect, sensitivity, and a deep understanding of the sacred space.

This unique production features carefully selected soulful songs, top-class production, professional sound and lighting, and subtle visuals that enhance the atmosphere while preserving the integrity of the venue. The result is a powerful, uplifting, and emotional live experience filled with hope, faith, and community spirit.

Michael’s church concerts have received outstanding feedback, with audiences describing them as “incredible,” “uplifting,” and “deeply moving,” and many venues rebooking immediately due to demand. The show has also proven to be a strong fundraising opportunity for church renovations, pilgrimages, school associations, local charities, and restoration projects.

A proven performer with decades of experience, Michael English continues to deliver world-class entertainment across all formats — from full concert tours and dance events to his deeply meaningful church series — making him one of Ireland’s most respected and versatile live artists.
